From the bride:

How I felt on the day of my bridals can only be described in one word: nervous. Not because I was nervous about how my pictures were going to turn out, or making sure my hair would last all day, or hoping my make-up looked picture perfect. I was nervous because that morning I woke up to thunder and lighting and watched water fall out of the sky in buckets. Living in Austin, Texas we are always so grateful to have rain like we did that morning, but I was not so grateful for it that day because my bridal portraits were to be taken outdoors.

I knew from the moment we decided on our venue, Pecan Springs Ranch, I wanted my bridals portraits to be taken outside on their well maintained grounds. Our venue made for the perfect backdrop for my bridals because it captured the beauty of the Texas Hill Country with its refurbished buildings dating from the 1800’s, lush green lawns, gorgeous native wildflowers, and magnificent old pecan trees.

As my day went on and my Mom and I drove all over Austin from one appointment to another, my nerves began to disappear as we had caught a break in the rain. The sun was out and the sky was turning blue, and I was starting to feel like a bride for the first time once I put on my dress. At this point we were ready for pictures. Anna, my photographer, knew we only had a short window between the rain storms and we had to start shooting fast.

Throughout my shoot my photographer made me feel relaxed, natural, and beautiful. Anna was also great at directing me where to look, and what worked best with my body which reassured me that my pictures were going to turn out great.

During the middle of the shoot the storms started rolling in again and my nerves kicked back in. However we discovered later that this would be a blessing in disguise because Anna was able to capture the gray and purple clouds just perfectly in the background making for stunning images.
